one of the last groups to have the honor of performing at Notre Dame Cathedral

before a horrible fire struck on April 15th. Along with the world, LCHS Choirs were

devastated by the news and immediately set out to find a way to help support the

reconstruction efforts.

The LCHS Choirs and The LCHS Choral Parents Association are proud to send a

check for $1,825.00 to Musique Sacrée à Notre-Dame de Paris. The funds were

raised at the Spring Pops Concert as well as via aggressive online efforts throughout

the summer.

Choir Director Dr. Jeff Brookey is thrilled to help the reconstruction of the venerated

cathedral. “These young men and women experienced a ‘once in a lifetime’ moment

last April when they added to the musical history of Notre Dame, and they wanted to

do all they could to make it possible for others to enjoy beautiful music once again at

Notre Dame.”

Chamber Singers President and LCHS Senior Haley Lowes-Bicay was on the trip and

shared her reflections on the experience. “Notre Dame holds an astounding 800 years

of culture and history, instantly unifying everyone who steps foot inside the fantastic

cathedral. Remembering the feeling of awe while singing in this place, looking at the

stain glass and marble that has stood throughout many moments in history, I only

hope that this contribution would help any other visitor have the chance to feel the

same romantic and glorifying feeling.”
